    Default Webley Mk3 5.5mm trigger

    HI

I was given a Webley Mk3 by my uncle but it needed a fair amount of TLC.
The pellet trap arm was damaged as well as the spring drive arm on the cocking lever. The spring was also damaged.
I have disassembled the rifle and repaired the tap, filed a new arm and replaced the spring.
On assembling I am now having problems getting the rifle to cock and fire. I get the rifle to cock but when pulling the trigger it doesn't fire UNLESS i flick the trigger like a guitar string...not right.
The problem is when I go on the WWW the trigger and piston arrangement I see are not the same as in the rifle.

    Who can help?
Will post pics in the morning of the parts.
It's a nice rifle that i would like restored.

There are two major variations in the Webley Mk3 trigger, so without knowing which version you have it is difficult to advise.

First series Mk3's have a two stage trigger often referred to as a 'double pull' trigger.

This is what the 'double pull' trigger blade looks like:

Second series onwards have a simpler single stage mechanism, although there are also variations in the shape of the trigger blade from the earlier to later guns.

Some pictures of what you have got might assist in offering a diagnosis.
