    Default Shim Washers.

    Good evening guys.

Anyone know where I can get shim washers? I'm not exactly sure of the size yet, I'll still have to measure. The rifle I have does not have these but it will benifit greatly from one on either side of the breach block. So standard sizes might work, or I'll need a custom size made up. There was a place that would do them, but I've lost the details. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks guys.

It's not for any specific rifle, I need a specific size of washer. I still have to measure and see what size I need, I know there are standard sizes in varying thinness.

Cut any thickness you like from shim stock.

JKM Industrial Supplies may have, otherwise buy some small brass washers and rub them between 600 and then 1200 water paper until the correct guage is achieved.

I have often made shim washers from beer can when I tune trigger mechs. Fold a length over a few times and compress it. Use a drill press and a sharp drill bit to the pin size you require and put a hole though the entire folded strip.

Trim each shim down to shape by scoring sections with a Olfa knife and then break bits off.

Thanks for the replies. Cutting them out by hand is not going to be good enough for my liking and jkm is also out. Maybe I can have them laser cut??

If you have money to throw at it....

Just make sure that the cost of the washer does not equate to the cost of a new rifle that does not need shim washers.

Money to throw at it? Hehehehe, no bud, here in PE we get things done much cheaper than you guys. I work for an engineering firm, I'll just add it in when we order more laser cuttings. Probably 50 buck at the most, and I'll get a whole sheet cut.
