Default GAMO swarm magnum IGT 5.5mm in SA?

    Hi Guys,

(Hope you all had a very blessed Xmas)

I have been researching the GAMO rifle in the title of this post.

I love thew 10 shot mag for a break-barrel and of course the power. - there are many videos on YouTube where they are getting just under or just over 30ft.lbs!(same piston as the G-magnum I guess) - They are using very heavy pellets to bring the speed down for accuracy of course.

I have made up my mind that this will be my next toy but where to get one?

After a quick search it seems the multi shot gamo's are called "replay-10" in South Africa and not "swarm" as they are called all over YouTube. - I cannot find a "replay-10 magnum" however(if this is its SA name?)

Would the GAMO experts please enlighten me.

I would like to purchase this rifle and if anyone can point me in the right direction it would be very much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance guys

So after some digging I found a rifle: Rifles Multishot | Gamo South Africa

This seems to be the spring powered Magnum with the replay-10 mag system. - Does anyone know the difference between the spring powered Magnum and the IGT powered magnum?

Where are the Gamo guys? - Does no-one want my money?

PS I want a sumatra too thanks.

It is highly likely the answer lies in the words above.

I meant whether there would be a power, velocity, FPE or even accuracy comparison between them. -I have not been able to find a comparison.

I'm guessing the IGT would be the preferred power plant correct?

To be brutally honest, I think this model irrespective of power plant is gimmicky tat.

I would rather spend my money on a properly engineered single shot break barrel rifle such as a Weihrauch HW80 or HW95 depending on your preference for overall weight of rifle and power requirements.

The HW's have a reputation for accuracy and reliability and have a proven track record of durability.

I can appreciate the quality difference between them. I currently have a HW50s witch came very highly recommended as a 1st air rifle many years ago when I got into air rifles.

I am making a return to this hobby and plan on amassing a big collection. I don't need to "put this money towards something better" cuz I will buy that better rifle anyways. - There is no "budget"

I want this particular gamo(10 mag magnum IGT) due to the gimmicks that make it unique. - now if I could only convince someone to sell me one... that's IF they are available here.

    Not that unique.

There are two mag fed springers from Hatsan for example.

    The underlever Proxima
    Hatsan Proxima

    And the break barrel Speedfir
    Hatsan Speedfir TO

The trick is to get the official ZA agent to give a damn about the brand and actually stock them.

I had no idea Hatsan had repeating models aswell.... Shouldnt have seen this, now i want one of those proxima's aswell.

I still want the power of the Gamo magnum's tho... so I'll get both.

Where can I get this? You say they are not in SA yet CK?

The local Hatsan agent is not very good at stocking up with the established models let alone the new stuff.

I'm hoping its just due to the festive season that no retailers have contacted me... 7 years ago when i bought my hw50s i had tons of PM's when I enquired into my 1st Air-rifle. Geez it almost feels like I need to pay someone to take my money... lol ;p

I bought my son a Gamo Swarm Replay-10 Maxxim 5.5mm a few months ago. I also got him an AA S400 a few weeks ago, which he loves to bits.
I'll see if he is prepared to part with it.

Thanks for the Reply Phats. It has to be the magnum IGT version of this rifle though.

Thanks for the reply Johan but this is only the stock replay 10 - I am looking for the MAGNUM IGT version of this rifle.
