It pains me to have to admit I have left a springer cocked overnight, for about 8 hours. Is that spring now a goner, or will it suvive?
I just found the quoted article Test: Leaving mainspring cocked on the forum. Seems not to be a train smash, but the rifle is quite old (Diana/Milbro Series 70 Model 71). Any ideas on the effect of age and quality of the springs used by Milbro?
If the spring is still original ( that is to say, not some cheap replacement), there wont be any harm done at all...
I have a 10m FWB pistol that jammed on me. Its been "cocked" for over two years now. That might be a different story.... results will be interesting when i get around to fixing it, no doubt!
