    Default Metal Lathe Lubrication

This is a question for the metal lathe owners out there. Which oils do you use for lubricating all the various lube points on the lathe?

On the ways and slides I use GL5 diff oil, it contains a high pressure additive that will prevent metal to metal contact and makes it very smooth to move.
My Chinaman's gearbox is very noisy, so in an attempt to try an reduce the noise I also used GL5 diff oil with a viscosity improver and molybendum disulfide additive.
    Works for me.

We use high quality lithium grease, most of our machines have grease nipples so using a dedicated grease gun once every 6 months does the job.
