Default What scope for Field Target on a S400

I'm looking for a good FT scope for my S400. What would the pro's recommend? All the specs please from power to tube size , mounts and reticle.

I like the Nikko Stirling scopes. What about the MTC Viper?

I'm throwing a stone in the bush and checking to see what's jumping out!

    How deep is your pocket?

FT scopes starts on R2000 and could go as high as probably R15 000+....

Above mentioned 2 threads, that scopes not good for FT. Cannot rangefind properly. I also say N/S 10-50 X 60 for S400 the way to go.

Looking for a good scope for FT in my oppinion, is a scope that can consistantly do good rangeing, and taking that in account, the minimum worthwile scope in my oppinion, is the Nikko 10 - 50 x 60 as recommended by Moose, and Goose.

The others mentioned, might do a reasonable job, but if you are serious about FT, and have aspirations to become a top shot, I'm afraid they won't do the job.

A Leupold is big money every where !

The top range Nicko here in UK for FT is over ?1000 !!!

That is serious money , especialy when multiplying by 15 or 16 !!

    Hi Gerry,

Where have you seen a Nikko for over ?1000?, or do you mean the Leupold?

    The 2008 version N/S 10-50x60 has a UK RRP of about ?550.

The MTC Viper - nice reticle but I have seen a bit of variability in optical quality between various examples of them.

    Howzit Dale ,

I'll look for the advert . I must say I was shocked and wondered if it was not a typo !!

I kind of remember thinking that the cost of a Walther or EV2 plus a scope like that is more than a fairly good car !
