    Default Stripping a BSF S54

So before I go and cock things up nicely, has anyone here stripped a BSF S54 underlever before?
Specifically I would like to know how to get the front sight unit off the barrel... How is it attached and how do I get it off without damaging it.
I have a good condition rifle, but the front sight is buggered - little "rail" on top that the ring slips onto is mangled up and beyond repair.
I have found an incomplete donor rifle with a decent front sight unit that I'd like to take off and fit onto my rifle, but not sure how these sights were fitted to the barrels. Hopefully not press-fitted and if you try to remove it it comes out damaged.

Please let me know if any of you have done this before and how to.

    Thanks

IIRC, there is a cross pin through the body of the sight assembly. Drift this out and it should slide forwards off the barrel.
