Default Hawke RD25 Red dot scope

I want to fit one of these to my CP1 Carbine .177.
I know a scope will give better accuracy etc, but I think a red-dot sight will be a better fit for this compact carbine.
My question, how reliable are these? Most importantly, do they hold zero? I do not want to sight it in once a week

They hold zero well. I have one on my Ruger 10-22 on a picatinny rail. I swap it out with a 4-16 scope from time to time and it still holds it zero very well after refitting into the same rail slots.
