    Default CO2 wasting

I've mounted my Hawke RD25 red dot on my Cobra CP1 carbine. I am not having any buyer's remorse about the Hawke. If it proves reliable on the long run, it's a very good buy. It sighted in like a dream. The quality of the minature turrets are better than I expected.
Is the following a possible issue?
Everytime I take a shot there is a bit of CO2 blowing back into my face. Not much and it does not bother me much. But is it normal? Is there a way to stop it?
I inserted a maintenance CO2 cylinder to oil the seals etc. First shot, face full of oil. I hope it's not poisonous.

No, it is not normal. Sounds like the o-ring has failed. The one that seals the pellet probe. I think you may have to remove the barrel to change it.

CO2 is toxic, not poisonous. Not sure about the oil though.

Remove the 3 screws above the barrel. Pull/wiggle the barrel forward. At the rear end of the barrel you must see an o-ring seated. If its missing, there's your problem
