    Default PCP power adjustment

I recently bought a kral PCP.

    It has a power adjuster.

Without shooting to check shot count on the different settings is there any info on air use when the power is adjusted?

Will a lower power setting result in a higher shot count? Or is the amount of air released the same but it gets directed in another manner?

Will this also be different for different types of PCP ( my question is for Kral brand, but others with the same question, could benefit.)

Online there is more than one opinion with some saying the amount of air used is the same despite the lower power setting. (at 18:49)

Does anyone have a easy explanation of what the power adjuster does internally?

My FX Ranchero uses much less air on low power. I assume it would be the same for all other brands as well. That said, there are always exeptions.

I did some reading and this was the best article I got relating to my question.

It seems ( and please correct me if it is wrong) that most of the power adjusters on a pcp change the hammer spring / strike force of the hammer.

This article is very in depth and a good read.

My question answered according to this article and what TwentyCal has experienced on his Fx ranchero is:

The lower the power setting the less force the hammer will hit the release valve with and less air goes out.
Thus lower setting should equal more shots.

The corrected power curve for each gun and pellet will take some experimenting and a fun session of shooting to determine.
