Default Barrel turning / indexing for accuracy

Does anybody turn their barrel to achieve better accuracy? The story goes that all barrels are bent to some degree or another, and if your gun allows you to turn the barrel in small increments the POI will be in a circle, some barrels shoot 50mm circles but some apparently can be out as much as 150mm or more at 25 metres. The idea is to secure the barrel in a position where it will shoot at the 12-o-clock position. I know that it is possible to turn the FX barrel liners, apparently doing this will give better accuracy specially for long range shooting. Anybody experimented with this?

Just make sure that the transfer port is not turned out of line.
