Default Just tuned my own S400!

I ordered a "Stage 1 tuning Kit" from a guy on ebay. Comes with a whole bunch of replacement o-rings, screws, bolts and a "High performance" spring and a DVD.

It arrived on Monday so tonight I spent an hour reading through the instructions and undoing my "baby".

I replaced the hammer spring and all the O-rings, and a few bolts that looked old and gassed it up again. Oh no Air coming out the barrel! I figured out that when it's totally empty I might need to cock it first. Worked fine after I did that - everything still works, but I will definitely have to de-tune it using the power adjuster. (Have to buy a torx T10 first) It sounds as if a lot more air is coming out with each shot.

Just for the record, all the stuff looks like genuine Air Arms stuff. I honestly can't tell the difference even under a 10x loupe, so it's not cheap knock off stuff. The ebayer reckoned the fpe would be up to 25, but I think I'd need to test that!

All comes with a DVD with Instructions. If anyone wants the instruction pdf's I can upload them for you. (6.75mb)

I'll re-zero my scope on Friday! Maybe HGS has a Chrony and he can test it.

Honestly - I didn't know that, but I don't like to send it away when there was a chance I could do it myself. Could have all gone pear shaped of course and then I could be crying instead and asking for help.

I wonder whats after "stage 1"?

Don't think you'll get much detuning using that power adjuster, usualy good for just 20/30fps on a 12ft/lb rifle.
Interested to see what kind of power curve you'll get.

i agree with Mac...as for the 25ft/ibs i doubt it will do that much without increasing the pot size.

I have never seen or heard of tuning kits avaliable for s400's but hey if the stuffs good qaulity then go for it...

I have done alot of tuning with my s400

I can almost garuantee that you will be disapointed with the chrony results!!

Just by changing to a stiffer spring will waste a lot of air. I guess you will use 8-10 bar per shot and the velocity will also decrease a lot quicker between shots.

And to get 25 fpe in .177 out of a AA Classic without doing major modifications-

    well uhmmmm...... never...

I'll take it to HGS for a chrony. I might end up putting the old spring back for FT anyway, but at least it has new seals!

New O-ring seals go for R 0.25 to R 1.00 / seal. Neoprene or Viton!!
What did you pay for the kit again?
