VERY IMPORTANT!!!!!!!!! The weather of late has been incredibly poor and waterlogged ranges are not uncommon. Please check the forum or at least give me a call on Thursday evening to confirm whether the shoot is still on or not. At this stage luck will have to be on our side so please do not chance it.

Default AAC Club Shoot (06.09.2008) Postponed

Unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances the shoot for this weekend has to be postponed a week. The club shoot will now happen on Saturday 13 September 2008 at Wetton Shooting Range.

However, we have received a number of requests from shooters wanting to set-up their rifles. We have therefore decided to open the range (Wetton) on Saturday morning from 8:00 - 12:00 for those interested in setting up rifles, practising or plinking.

Please remember to bring your own paper targets and as always, there is a R20 range fee for all shooters.

Please give me a shout if you require more information.

At last some good weather, I just hope the range isn't waterlogged. I will be checking tomorrow and will post findings.

Another thing, Some feedback on course layout would be appreciated from guy's who wish to attend. What I am asking is whether or not we should set the course up to significantly increase difficulty given that we don't at this stage have any new people who would suffer as a result or should it carry an intermediate sort of rating?

Checked the range this morning and although there is water we can and will make a plan, expect a challenging course!

Allan, based on typical overseas difficulty levels as discussed, we really need to start elevating difficulty as you well know. For AAC, tomorrow's course will be much more difficult than before and top shots will not be clearing courses. New people will also have to pull finger and rise to the challenge.

Because some new guy's will battle we would look into having weekly practice sessions and guided learning for the inexperienced.

As for your PLC problem, try a 4 pound hammer, if that doesn't work the problem is electrical!!

BTW, did you really try and call me, I'm usually good with answering my phone?

Just would like to say thank you for the AAC guys for the nice shoot that we had on Saturday. It was a wonderfull sunny and HOT day. We could not ask for more. Well to the committee for setting up such a nice course in soggy wet ground conditions.

A bit water-logged, but hey - at least we were at the shoot. Interesting course layout with the standing and kneeling shots thrown in-between and at some interesting distances too... Some pictures of shoot loaded to my album.
