    Default Modification on any magazine

Yesterday while sitting in traffic I came up with this idea.....
I dont know if there is a rifle available with this sort of modification.

This will only work if you have a magazine on your rifle.

Imagine that you have a rabbit, rock pigeon or knock down target in sight and when you pull the trigger the magazine is empty and you need to reload!!!!!!

You have forgotten to count the amount of shots in the magazine.

The modification is very simple and easy to do.
The only disadvantage is to sacrifice one shot.

Take a 5mm tap and drill thread in one pellet hole of the magazine.
Buy loctite and a 5mm grub screw about 8mm long
    .
Turn this grub screw in after putting a drop of loctite on the screw. For .20 use a 6mm grub screw.

This will prevent a future misfire.

ps: Remember to insert the magazine the right way for this modification to work.

Cool idea.... no if I can only remove the totally STUPID AUTO SAFETY on my HW77 I'll also have a lot more luck in the field.

Farmer, why can't you remove the safety? I haven't stripped down my HW97 to see but there should be a way to remove it.

Ja, there should be an easy way, I just don't feel like stripping the rifle.

You can remove the safety completely on your HW77. I won't recommend it though.

    Why not?
I don't walk around with a loaded rifle, or even with a finger near the trigger. Only load when I intend to shoot. Anyway I'm used to the BSA and I don't think I have ever used the safety on it before.

The Falcon Raptor series of rifles use a system that stops the magazine from turning after the last shot, well it turns so that the metal between the last and first hole is in the bore of the magazine and it obstructs the bolt that way.

    Farmer.
Remove the trigger mechanism from your HW77. Slide out the safety and remove or lose the little spiral spring. Reassemble and you have a manual safety.
Discovered by accident. Did not notice the spring disappear when reassembling the rifle one day.

You do need to tilt the rifle slightly towards the right or gravity will still set the safety for you.
