    Default Pump for HW90?

Does anybody know why this damn thing is so expensive?
Is there another way of getting air in? I've also had conflicting advice on what pressure to pump it to. I've heard 22, 30 and 40 BAR. Anybody know what the correct pressure should be?

    Thanks,
    Spyker

works best around 18bar...gets too harsh above that and difficult to shoot accurately

I think a 300psi mountain bike shock pump should actually work with the Marzocchi adapter...costs R300.
Go to a bike shop and try one

Don't think you'd be able to cock it at 40. !amazed

I've come across 16, 20, etc.. up to 24 (for FAC).

Probably kicks like a mule at 24?

Its a .22, and i use it to bag tarentaal and rabbits, including those damned Indian Mynas!!!

I had to replace the piston seal recently when it got burned through, so all I need now is a pump to solve all my problems.
As far as pressure goes, this is an extract from a PDF file of the Theoben website explaining the pump instructions.

Twelve brisk strokes of the pump are required to pressurise the hose, as this is fitted with a oneway
valve. This is necessary due to the high pressures involved. Some models run with around
700 psi (48 bar) others require 1000 psi (69 bar).

No way on the HW90!!! 69Bar?? sheesh...

Max is about 24Bar and that makes it very very harsh to shoot in .22....
I had one and the Theoben pump and eventually sent it back to PotShot for a refund.
It kept loosing pressure, was not accurate above 14ft\lbs and both stocks I had with it were cracked...

The way I read it, is that the 12 pumps are to pressurise the pump's hose only. Be it the 48 or 69 bar model (of pump).
Further pumps (really wanna say pumping lol) are to pressurize the actual gas strut.

Edit = thought I'd put the link in here - bit of a mission to navigate that site IMO...

Thanks to all who replied. Now getting back to the pumping bit.

Does anybody know where I can lend one from? All I need to do is pressurise the chamber.

    Help! Anyone?

Anyway, swung by Potshot on Saturday, and had the rifle pumped to 24 bar.
Apparently they make their own pumps and sell them for R900. A bit over the top if you think you might only need one once every two years to re-pressurise after seal replacement...

Got myself 4 Mynas yesterday as a bonus.
