    Default Bell Target

    Hiya

I've been thinking for a while now about making a bell target but I'm stuck on what to use as a bell. Or even where to get an actual bell that'll take some pounding from the pellets.
Was thinking of making some restrictors to drop in, so as to limit the opening for the shot.

    Any clues?

A couple of months ago one of the pommy mags hag a feature on the bell targets . There were a couple of photos showing the bell targets .

Either Airgunner or Airgun world .

Interesting , for low power springers , with open sights !

Also saw the article. Was shot under 15 m with open sighted ancient springers.
Avion- use a pipe 50mm with a 10mm rod hanging in it for a bell. Phone me if I must explain to you.

Made one up out of 64mm pipe and a 10mm inner bar.
Doesn't make that much noise. Think I need to use cast iron but don't have any laying about. :?
Might try to make the wall thickness thinner and harden it - see if that helps some.

Did you close the top end of the pipe?
Play with the lenght of the pipe and the rod, it is a hit and miss affair.

Was thinking of something in this line at the range- target at 70m 30mm reducer, we all club R5 in and the first guy to ring the bell (1 shot only) gets the kitty.

I found a piece of 40mm box section steel suspended by a wire behind the face plate gives a very satisfactory ring when struck and doesn't disintegrate as most ordinary bells can.
