Default sighting in for 15 yards.......

yesterday before i went to shoot at leeukop i sighted my gun in but instead of sighting it in at the usual 25 yards i sighted it at 15.......but not using the cross hairs i sighted in with what i usually use at 15 which is 2 mildot down.

i thought that this would be very inaccurate because if it s not exactly on the money the little bit that it is off at 15 will be a lot more at 50 yards but after i sighted for 15 continued to shoot pine cones out of a tree at around 80 to 90 yards i filled up and went on to shot at leeukop and got the highest score i have got so far and this all by sighting in at 15 yards.....

    what you guys think?

Congratz on your new personal best moose.

I don't think it would be 'very innacurate', but as you mentioned a small error at 15 would equate to a larger error at 50.
Depends how well you shoot at 15y. :P

Think there are 36 targets on the course.
On my second round I came across one freebie, well I'm presuming because it would fall if you let go of the string too quickly. 1'st target on the downhill section.

37 targets on the range at present. 2 of them are freebies, but not for long. Got nice 5mm steel targets that will be up on the range soon(bring it on HP's).
Moose- dont think sighting in at 15m is the main reason for shooting that well. By now you are getting familiar with your rifle and you are used to the range. The better you get to know your rifle the better you will shoot.

Lewis, speaking of which. Is there a mix around of the targets coming soon?

PS - love the new layout of the sighting in range.

The range will be reshuffled as soon as the HP proof targets are completed.
