I just received my new Sports Match mounts today and just have a quick question. The old mounts that are on my gun had like a ribbon type material lining stuck inside the rings. The new Sports Match mounts do not have those. Do I need to install such material linings again?

Jan, those inserts are there to help grip the scope in springers. If you put the scope on a PCP then dont worry about it.

Can't recall of the same is on the Leapers, but the old Nikko Stirling had some. Looks like double sided tape, like the ones you get at PNA, art shops and pretty sure Builders as well.

    No.

I have found the self adhesive ribbon to be used on some of the cheaper mounts, but on properly engineered mounts it isn't required, even when used on spring guns.
