Default Heidelberg Range & high density foam

    Hi

Keen to hear what your strategies are for the 17/01/2009 shoot at the legendary Mildots range. I'm refering to the steep up and down shots. I was thinking to take up yoga and pilates just to prepare my mind and body for that shoot but I guess I've left that a bit late

Plan B is to have a few beers next Friday evening and glue a nice thick piece of high density rubber foam to my rifle's fore end. Any idea where you can buy the stuff in the PTA area?

A higher hamster will help .

What I found is that some shots are just a lot easyer kneeling.

Or the easyest is to just walk past all those killer shots

Should just have done that the previous time. For me shooting kneeling position and walking past will yield approx. the same result

I was looking for a sort of quick fix but maybe I should fit a hamster that can be removed for the more "normal" shoots.

If they just want to change that strange little rule that's not applicable anywhere in the whole wide FT world but here. Always wondered why FT was called the Formula One of airgun sports? Guess it's because of all the rules Concertina hamster! Cool! The picture I have in my mind is that while you are aimaing, you hit a button somewhere on the fore-end with your leading hand which releases a ratchet catch, and without loosing aim, adjust your hamster to the ideal height, and release the button, to lock the hamster in place. Damn, who is going to that SAFTAA delegates meeting? They have to vote this one in.

I think for Saturday I'm just going the prototype route and strap my car's scissor jack to my rifle just to test the concept. If the hamster is moving really slow, is it really moving....

I used a "pool noodle" for that. It is made of a high density foam, that does not draw water, is very light, and cut easily. You can get them at most supermarkets for about R 15.00 each. Try one, they work wonderfull, and keep their shape.

James, just remember it's 3 minutes per 2 target lane, not 1 tyre change... LOL
