    Default Importance of cleaning

I recently bought this piece of crap...

    http://www.greatdeal.co.za/griffon-b...reviews_id=234

This weekend I decided to take some advice and clean it.
I took the detachable barrel off... it was so dirty, I couldn't even see any grooves in the barrel.

Using the fishline/pullthrough method and some gunbarrel cleaner, it took me about 10 minutes to clean.

Using the same pellets as before, the grouping improved from 8cm/10m to about 2 cm/10m (sitting on chair, blasting away). this is by now means good, but WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!!

So let this be a lesson to all other noobs... CLEAN YOUR RIFLE.

Air Arms suggests in their words "cleaning after every 250 shots is not too often"

Lube your pellets and you might improve even more.

If your pellets are clean and lubed you will have to clean less often. AA Pellets tend to be very clean but (sorry Gerrief) Accupells are extremely dirty, clean then first and then lube. Barrel will stay clean for much longer.

Send your Accupells to me. I'll clean it for you so nicely you'll think they are chromed, ask Urabus.R10-00 per tin only, to clean and lube with special brewed muti that has been in the family for generations. haha

Gerrief , dont joke .I like Accupell in my BSA. R10 just to clean is a bargain in my book. Just the benzine to clean a tin of pellets costs that much.Never mind the time it takes to do the job.Your system you use is effective but takes a lot of time.If it were not for blokes like you I would never have seen a clean Accupel.
