Default Air Rifles and Border Posts?

I do quite a lot of travelling up into Botswana, Zambia etc. by 4X4. Does anyone know what the legalities are like in taking air rifles into these countries. Would be great to have with me for plinking etc.

    Thanks

You will have to check for export permits. I was told last time I needed a permit to take my rifle into Botswana.

Isn't Robert McBride the expert on getting arms across borders? Perhaps fone him for some tips, oh wait he's chief of police now innit?

    LoL. Good 1 Avion.
Afaik Namibia legislation regulates air rifles and it will be a problem there. If I remember correctly Zim has the same regulations. Not sure about mozzie and botsie though. No problem with fly fishing equipment though. Imho the PCP rifles we use will probably give our neighbours custom officials the sh@#s and you will be held in a place of safety with no trial cucka food with compliments from Oom Mugaabs
